Gordon Stewart as organ tutor.
Gordon is well-known as an organ tutor. For many years he taught at both the Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music. Former pupils now hold positions in some of the country’s most important cathedrals.
Gordon has led masterclasses for the IAO, RSCM, RCO, Royal College of Music, Hull University, Shenandoah University in Virginia, and Pretoria University in South Africa. Gordon is always pleased to lead masterclasses for Organists’ Associations, colleges and universities. Recently he has often led a master class as part of recital visit; he is happy to work with organists of all abilities and his classes are always full of fun and encouragement.
Gordon is now one of the visiting organ tutors at Cambridge University.
Gordon runs a one-day course for ‘reluctant’ organists – Everything you need to know to play the pipe organ in one day. The next course will be in New Mills, High Peak on October 1st. Contact Gordon for details.
