Gordon plays music by Noel Rawsthorne, the former organist of Liverpool Cathedral and one of Britain's most highly respected concert organists. Since he left the cathedral he has composed music which is played and enjoyed all over the world. Gordon's selection ranges from the Fanfare for Francis which he wrote for Dr Francis Jackson's 90th birthday, to the Fantasie on Wachet auf written for Ian Tracey's 25th anniversary at Liverpool Cathedral and the Dance Suite written for Gordon and the Huddersfield Town Hall organ. Many of the pieces played on the CD are recorded here for the first time. Rawsthorne favourites, the Prelude on the Londonderry Air and Hornpipe Humoresque are included.
